SMACITE Project Certification Application is Open for Round 2 

Embarking on the path to obtain a recognised certification of skills after your attendance on the SMACITE project!

Important Notice:

You are eligible to participate in the SMACITE certification exams given that you have successfully completed the Smart Cities course + 1 additional technical course + 1 course on horizontal skills (i.e. soft skills, entrepreneurship skills, green skills). The successful completion of a course is proved by getting the Certification of Achievement at the MOOC. This applies both to the courses for Smart Cities Engineers and Smart Cities Technicians.

Q1. How do I declare my interest to participate into the certification exams?

In this webpage bellow you will find an online application form to fill your personal data and upload all the necessary documents to participate to the exams

Q2. Is it compulsory to fill in the application form and upload the requested documents?

Yes, it is compulsory, as the certification exam follows the European Qualification Standards which has specific procedures and requirements.

Q3. When will the certification exams take place?

The certification exams will take place in 2 rounds. The first round will be on August 2024, the second round in October/November 2024. For the 1st round, the specific dates of the exams are given in the online application form – declaration of interest for the certification.

Q4. How many chances I have in order to pass the certification exams?

There are 2 chances to pass the certification exams. In the case that you will fail to pass the exams during the first round or the second round, there will be a resit round on late January.

Q5. How the certification exams will be delivered?

The certification exams will be delivered online through UNICERT S.A. certification system called Certify using your own personal computer from your personal space.

Q6. Which are the requirements of the online certification exam?

The minimum requirements of the online certification exam are the following:

  • Photo ID (A valid Government issued ID that includes a photograph and date of birth in English characters, such as a National ID card, Passport, driving license or social security card.)
  • A quiet room with sufficient light and a clean desk. No other persons are allowed to be present in the room.
  • External or integrated Web camera able to rotate 360o
  • Desktop or laptop with Internet connectivity (at least 512/512 kbps for uploading /downloading)
  • Speakers and microphone

Q7. Which applications/programs are going to be used ?

Certify is conducted through the “Zoom” platform and the examination is carried out through the examination program of UNICERT S.A.

Q8. How do I install the required applications/programs ?

Prior to the scheduled examination date, each candidate receives an email with the necessary information/instructions for the certification process and the installation of the programs.

Q9. What happens in case of a technical problem or inability to connect ?

Once the email with the necessary information/instructions has been sent, each candidate will be able to contact the technical support department via email for further clarifications. On the day of the examination, any technical issues will be resolved with the assistance of a technical support representative, who will be online during the whole examination process.

Q10. How is each candidate identified ?

Prior to the start of the exam, the UNICERT S.A. certified proctor checks each candidate individually by having them show their ID (A valid Government issued ID that includes a photograph and date of birth in English characters, such as a National ID card, Passport, driving license or social security card)) to the camera.

Q11. How is the testing environment secured ?

After cross-checking each candidate’s details, the certified proctor checks each candidate’s desktop and terminates any running programs. When the examination program starts, no other programs can be opened, while both the camera and the microphone of each candidate remain open for better supervision.

Q12. Which is the duration of the certification exam?

The duration of the exam is 40 minutes per course.

Q13. Which is the score that I should achieve in order to pass the certification exams for the engineers?

The minimum score that you should achieve in order to pass the final exams is 70% (25 correct answers out to 35)

Q14. Which is the score that I should achieve in order to pass the certification exams for the technicians?

The minimum score that you should achieve in order to pass the final exams is 70% (20 correct answers out to 28)

Certification Prerequisites: Declare your interest

IMPORTANT NOTE:
The Certification exams will be held from 22/10/2024 till 8/11/2024 (excluded the Monday 28th October), the hours will on the slots 17:00 - 18:00, 18:00 - 19:00, 19:00 - 20:00. You need to declare the days you are available and the week. In max 2 days you will be contacted from IT departed for finilisation of the date and hour of exams in order to have time for your preparation.



GDPR statement:
We would like to inform you that during the certification of the SMACITE project and in the context of the project, a camera will be used during the examination and the participant will be asked for reasons of transparency to visually inspect the surrounding area. Also in this context we are obliged by EU and Erasmus + regulations to keep in our file all personal data and material that we collect and produce during this project for at least 5 years after the completion of the project.
